Job Summary/Description:
First Alert 7 - the top-rated, long-time news leader in Odessa-Midland, TX - is looking for a Broadcast Producer to join our news team of award-winning anchors, producers, and reporters. Odessa-Midlnad has a healthy mix of stories, from oil and gas industry news to healthcare and breaking news. You'll be producing two of our highest-rated shows at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. nightly.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Produce the First Alert 7 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. 30-minute newscasts nightly with a combination of local, state, and national news.
- Make/answer calls about stories and breaking news.
- Write for Broadcast and Web.
- Edit video for reporter packages and newscasts.
- Select and report daily on stories happening around West Texas.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree in Journalism or related field.
- Knowledge of AP style.
- Experience with newsroom environments.
- Quick thinking/takes initiative, capable of breaking news situations.
