Seeking a versatile female voice actor who can work independently with a dynamic read to bring the story and the characters to life. This is a fantasy audio show - it's independent recording and the project could last for over a year. (The length of the project will depend on its success). Paid 130 USD per finished hour (or GBP equivalent).
The main character of this story, determined, resourceful, witty, initially seemingly powerless but with hidden strength and a fiercely protective nature. She exhibits a sharp intelligence and adaptability and is around 18-20 years old.
You need to be capable of conveying youthful energy in flashbacks, vulnerability and deceptive meekness in the main character's persona, and growing strength and confidence as she navigates challenges.
Your voice should have a natural, grounded quality, capable of delivering both sarcastic wit and heartfelt emotion. As the power of the main character returns, her voice should reflect a burgeoning inner strength.
You must be able to make long passages of prose engaging. Having engaging authoritative narration is as important as being able to do good character voices.
Many of the listeners to Pocket FM have English as a second language, so clarity and a dynamic read is the top priority.
We need a UK / British accent.
Remote self-recording required: you must be able to edit your own audio and provide clean files (repeats and mistakes removed etc); you must be able to stay engaged and dynamic even when working without a director; you must be able to commit to recording a minimum of 5.5 hours per week, ideally with capacity to record up to 6.5 hours per week.
(we can work around holidays. Actual volume of recording required may be lower than this, depending on the writer's ability to provide scripts but you must be able to record up to this duration.)
