ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report on and engage with local and surrounding area activities and events

Scope, edit, and write posts about news, celebrity, entertainment, and gossip collected from both the local and national level as well as aggregating content from internal and external sources.

Work with radio personalities to assist in the creation and maintenance of daily blogs, and content

Maintain and grow all digital platforms including the station’s social network accounts, SMS clubs, mobile streaming apps, and newsletters.

Work with the Director of Content to leverage national programming opportunities, tools, and strategies.

Investigate and participate in relevant skill-building workshops with the ongoing development of the function for the position

Analyze metrics of web traffic primarily indicated by Unique Visitors (UVs) and Pageviews (PVs), and other performance metrics including, but not limited to, time spent, bounce rates, and impressions.

Utilize experience, judgment, and metrics to plan and accomplish goals through the development and implementation of local strategies.

Working with the stations' Program Director, Operations Manager, and/or Marketing/Promotions leads to maintain the vision, voice, and brand direction of the stations online.

Stay current with all relevant industry information as it applies to the overall job responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knows effective ways to distribute, promote, and market content over the web.

Knowledge of how to publish to and maintain a site using a content management system (CMS), WordPress a plus.

Must know how to perform photo resizing and audio and video editing using programs including Adobe Photoshop, iMovie, and Sound Studio.

Familiar with and knows how to analyze metrics of Google Analytics

Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.

Social media optimization knowledge, specifically to Twitter(X), Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook.

Must be consistently connected and familiar with all websites that cover news, entertainment, celebrity gossip, and events.

Knowledgeable of, and an active participant in, the local community, culture, and events in the local areas

Must be able to share the website internally and externally and work as part of a team.

Must be enthusiastic and disciplined; a self-starter who can thrive in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and aggressive performance targets.

Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and direct a team to include but not limited to:
o Provide regular constructive feedback
o Resolve issues/conflicts with diplomacy on time
o Provide ongoing guidance and support for growth and development
o Deploy effective coaching skills
o Practical understanding of anti-harassment and discrimination laws
o Ability to effectively administer performance reviews, and corrective action plans as appropriate.
o Ensure team (s) attend mandatory department and/or mandatory company training (s) as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BA degree preferred. 3 years of experience finding and producing editorial content online.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $65,000 -70,000
Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits offerings include, Major Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HSA, 401K, PTO, elective supplemental options, and bonus earning potential up to $5,000
