Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Copyright Manager to join our team in overseeing publishing administration across Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing copyright data, ensuring rights accuracy and supporting internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of music rights management.
About This Role
- Provide the highest-quality of publishing administration services to songwriters, affiliates and partners.
- Oversee the use and maintenance of internal copyright database, ensuring accuracy, consistency and data integrity.
- Maintain precis and up-to-dates records of all copyright-related information, including writer/publisher splits, ISWC and song titles.
- Review and Interpret publishing agreements to ensure accurate rights administration.
- Manager CWR submissions and coordinate catalogue imports and exports with affiliates and clients.
- Register musical works with both local and international performing rights organizations.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of agreements, renewals and termination notices.
- Liaise with songwriters and their managers on matters relating to registration and copyright ownership.
- Address internal and external copyright inquiries with clarity and professionalism.
- Investigate and resolve copyright conflict and ownership disputes.
- Serve as point of contact for local copyright societies and sub-publishers on copyright matters.
- Support the International team with copyright research and documentation.
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable local and international copyright laws.
- Assist the finance teams with audits, legal documentation and infringement cases.
- Collaborate with the finance team to resolve unidentified or unmatched royalty payments.
- Participate in monthly meetings with the Global Administration Team.
- Stay current with industry developments, changes in copyright law, publishing practices and society regulations.
Desirable Traits:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in any field.
- Min 2-years of work experience (basic understanding of music publishing and copyright administration a plus)
- Customer-service oriented: polite and courteous manner, strong interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle high volume of data accurately.
- Takes responsibility and ownership of tasks exhibiting excellent follow-through.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
