How We LEAD
UMG’s fraud prevention team is leading the industry by example in fighting the existential threats of streaming fraud and copyright fraud. This critical role will lead day-to-day operations and oversee a team focused on investigating stream manipulations and copyright infringement, including a strategic copyright infringement lead, a manger responsible for coordination across all internal labels and external DSP partners, and a team of specialized data analysts to help investigate and document fraud threats. This role will work a Remote schedule, and can work anywhere in the U.S., or be based in the U.K. or Germany.
How You'll CREATE
- Senior Leadership and Strategy Lead: Responsible for briefing key UMG stakeholders, developing all aspects of team reporting and KPIs, designing evidence briefs for legal and policy action
- Operational Oversight and cross functional collaboration with key partners in business affairs, digital strategy, content protection, commercial affairs, label teams, and other key UMG stakeholders
- Digital Strategy Interface: provide evidence and data to define operational and data requirements, inform negotiations and oversee UMG implementation of contractual fraud commitments, partner engagement, data and reporting.
- Strategic Lead for DSP Partner Engagement
- Drive DSP Partner engagement around fraud including synchronization with / enhancements to partner processes
- Holds regular meetings, develop feedback systems and conduct business reviews to ensure processes and partner approaches are working to maximum effect
- Compile and Prioritize Evidence Briefs: help compile, prioritize and disseminate fraud evidence across appropriate teams. Act as the primary POC with litigation team
- Oversee Data Strategy, Centralization and Analysis
- Design how data should be collected and disseminated internally, in addition to adjusting for partner data share
- Work with leadership at DSPs and vendors, aiming to build collaborative data feedback systems to better identify macro fraud trends and bad actors.
- Lead Fraud Technology Strategy and Design: envisage and deploy fraud detection systems and current process enhancements
- Foster Third Party Technology Partnerships to enhance scalability and efficacy in investigating of streaming and copyright fraud
- Lead Company Education: Spearhead and design internal education and process roll-out with teams around the world, from both a market and label perspective
- Evangelize and Engage In Public Forums, With Trade Bodies and Industry Groups as UMG lead for fraud related research projects. Be the public face and voice of UMG’s fraud efforts, present at trade shows and conferences, design white papers on findings, and other similar projects.
Bring Your VIBE
- BA or MBA in related area of study
- 10 years experience in fraud prevention
- At least 3 years experience at a major record label or DSP
- Working experience with different types of fraud threats, specifically stream manipulation and copyright infringement
- An operational understanding of the digital music landscape and ecosystem
- Extensive data management and analytical experience to spot trends in fraud and purvey actionable insights
- Superior presentation skills (oral and written), with the experience and ability to communicate at senior levels of a corporation
