Job Description
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
Remote or Hybrid 3x a month
In-office Expectations: This position offers remote work flexibility; however, if you reside within a commutable distance to one of our offices in New York, Des Moines, Birmingham, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Seattle, the expectation is to work from the office three times per month.
We are looking for a passionate individual who is eager to learn and can keep up in a fast-paced
environment. The bulk of the work is designing ads in Photoshop/Figma and building the final ads using
DDM’s proprietary ad building platform. This candidate should possess the ability to learn quickly;
adopting DDM’s internal platform while also providing feedback and suggestions to developers and
senior UX/UI designers to further enhance its functions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter; someone
who can organize their workflow with minimal supervision. The position entails having to communicate
with client solutions managers and other internal stakeholders to manage timelines to produce and
inform campaign creatives.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you to:
- Possess solid design fundamentals (typography, layout, hierarchy, & branding)
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to pivot quickly and engage productively with constructive feedback.
- Translate client needs and brand guidelines into captivating ad design.
- Should be detail-oriented and able to organize their own workflow.
II. Essential Job Functions
45% - Production design
- Execute post-production of all digital ad display units using HTML builder platforms like Celtra or
- similar.
- Ensure that all of the ads are properly optimized keeping in mind industry standards.
40% - Digital Design
- Design digital advertising campaigns while keeping the client’s goals and brand guidelines in
- mind
- Keeping up with the latest trends and tools.
10% - Collaboration with Activations and Product teams
- Communicate and support project managers to execute ads and use platform components to
- support the client’s product objectives.
5% Troubleshooting with Engineers
- Work alongside developers and engineers to troubleshoot and improve the functionality of DDM’s
- native platforms.
- Make recommendations for new products and features to enhance the platform.
III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience
Experience: 3-5 years

- Microsoft Excel/Google Suite
- Basic understanding of CSS & HTML

- Familiarity with JIRA or similar product management software

Pay Range
Salary: Washington: $68,000 - $80,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
