Sales Supervisor – Courtenay / Comox Valley, BC
Job Summary
Reporting to the General Manager / General Sales Manager, the Sales Supervisor is responsible for supporting our sales team and generating revenue for our market. This role focuses on driving sales efforts and achieving revenue targets. The Sales Supervisor will work closely with the sales team and other departments to execute sales strategies and provide top-tier customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue goals.
- Support the sales team by identifying new business opportunities and ensuring smooth coordination of sales efforts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and agencies to drive revenue growth.
- Monitor and assess market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
- Ensure that advertising schedules are met, and client expectations are managed effectively.
- Collaborate with programming, promotions, and production teams to ensure seamless execution of advertising campaigns.
- Track sales performance and report on key metrics to senior management.
- Assists in creating and maintaining the highest levels of personal and team productivity with enthusiasm and commitment to outstanding customer service
- Provide guidance and mentorship on sales techniques and strategies to improve team performance.
- Provide ongoing performance management for the team.
- Participate in regular sales meetings and contribute to brainstorming and planning discussions.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the station and generate new business.
- Ensure all sales activities align with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Position Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, preferably within the radio industry.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, agencies, and internal teams.
- Strong understanding of radio advertising and sales strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and customer behavior to identify new opportunities.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- A valid and current driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a supervisory or leadership role within a sales team
- Familiarity with radio industry trends and emerging advertising technologies.
- Knowledge of digital sales platforms and integrated advertising strategies.
