Job SummaryDepartment Specific Responsibilities
- Participates in and supervises activities related to distance and online educational initiatives and streaming performance activities. May direct camera operators and other technical staff during recording sessions and streaming performances.
- Makes technical decisions necessary to produce and deliver media across a wide range of delivery formats and platforms to include broadcast, webcast, or online formats; collaborates with faculty, may make instructional and artistic decisions.
- Researches, installs and supports equipment related to interactive distance education and streaming performance activities in studios, classrooms, labs and performance venues.
General Responsibilities
- Ensures operational integrity in the design, development, and implementation of systems in the classrooms/other learning environment for maximum availability and performance by monitoring queues, investigating, diagnosing and resolving moderately complex equipment failures.
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance procedures; performs inventory control and oversees repair shop and work area.
- Installs, tests and monitors applications software to maintain integrity and security and ensure compliance with departmental and industry standards.
- Evaluates trends, collaborates on design, specification and acquisition and interacts with external vendors/installers on the implementation of hardware and control systems meeting classroom operational needs.
- Researches and stays up-to-date on emerging digital media technologies and multimedia systems.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in related field)
WORK EXPERIENCE

Working Conditions / DemandsThis position requires the ability to communicate effectively and to operate computers and other related technical equipment. The role is required to maintain and interact with computers and frequently move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Due to the performance schedule, the digital media specialists are required to work some evenings and weekends.
