The Sales Planner is an integral member of the sales team and a critical connection between Account Executives and Sales Assistants in ensuring that all campaigns run correctly and are delivered as guaranteed. Building media plans and stewarding deals are the primary focus of this role. This position interacts regularly with media buying agencies and advertiser partners, both in-person and electronically, so a customer-friendly disposition is a necessity. The candidate must excel in a team setting and in a high intensity environment. The candidate must be adept at problem-solving while having the patience to fine-tune and re-work media proposals. “Media Math” proficiency is necessary. This position is required to have an intermediate knowledge of Nielsen ratings, television jargon and media buying/selling cycles and market dynamics.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Account Executives and Sales Assistants in a team setting, to assist in generating new business and growing existing business.
- Plan, manage and steward campaigns to ensure all client agreements are fulfilled.
- Engage with agency/client partners to drive campaign effectiveness.
- Participate in the building and presenting of network materials.
Position Requirements:
- 1 to 2 years of experience at a media buying or selling organization.
- Knowledge of WideOrbit preferred but not required.
- Proficient in media math.
- Fluency in the media ad sales language.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional, diplomatic and sales-friendly demeanor.
- Must be proactive and self-directed.
- Must possess excellent responsiveness and customer service skills.
- Proficient in using Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must flourish and enjoy working in a team setting, while being able to work independently
