JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
Under the direction of the Media Production Manager, the Media Production Coordinator is responsible for the conceptualization, design, and execution of high-quality multimedia content, including video production, graphic design, photography, and journalism. This position plays a key role in supporting the district's communication and engagement efforts by creating compelling visual and digital content that aligns with the district's mission and outreach goals. The Media Production Coordinator must demonstrate creativity, self-motivation, and technical expertise in multimedia production systems and content delivery platforms. This position will often work closely with the Marketing Coordinator where/when there is a need for producing engaging and innovative marketing materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists the Media Production Manager in maintaining all daily functions of media/video production services.
Ensures a professional demeanor in all public-facing activities, recognizing the position’s reflection on the district.
Produces creative video segments, including interviews, promotional content, music video montages, and graphic elements to enhance broadcasts.
Works closely with the District 11 Engagement Department to align communications across all stakeholders, producing materials for promotions and marketing initiatives.
Develops and implements promotional opportunities with community involvement to communicate the district’s message effectively.
Uses creativity to enhance content across multiple platforms and engages students through multimedia storytelling.
Collaborates with school video production students and teachers to develop promotional materials for school programs and initiatives.
Assists with remote audio/sound setups and breakdowns to support live events.
Lifts and carries up to 50 pounds regularly, transporting production equipment to field locations and shelving/reshelving equipment as needed.
Creates playlist data for the broadcast automation system to ensure daily playback on cable systems.
Participates in multimedia/technology-related professional development activities to stay current with industry trends.
Identifies and develops opportunities for the Media Production Department to function as a learning and technology-rich organization.
Analyzes and resolves technical challenges effectively.
Collaborates with the Media Production Manager to address site-specific concerns and resolve stakeholder issues.
Organizes and manages complex tasks and processes efficiently.
Assists in implementing and monitoring district policies, procedures, and security controls.
Supports communication efforts to school communities and district stakeholders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS
Demonstrated expertise in multimedia production, including video editing, graphic design, photography, and journalism.
Strong ability to conceptualize, develop, and execute high-level creative content.
Proficiency in industry-standard software for video production, graphic design, and content delivery.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed.
Competence in lifting and carrying production equipment for on-location shoots, including loads up to 50 pounds.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and visual content.
Ability to perform clerical and administrative tasks efficiently.
Ability to foster and manage change in a dynamic production environment.
Proficiency in operating multimedia production and audio/visual system equipment.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience in media production, communications, or a related field.
Valid Colorado Driver’s License.
Safe driving record.
Experience in television/video production, multimedia storytelling, and technology-related fields required.
Demonstrated technical competencies in video, audio, and computer hardware and software applications.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to and is evaluated by the Media Production Manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a television/video production studio but will include field location work.
Standard work hours are 8am –5pm, Monday thru Friday, but work in mornings, evenings and weekends will be required as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is a combination of sedentary and active with periods of moderate physical activity.
Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; climb stairs or ladders; bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects, recognize colors and odors, and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.

Per annual approval by the Board of Education: Employees shall be reimbursed at the rate established by the Board when a privately owned automobile is required to be used in the performance of official duty. Rules and restrictions of use provided in the Certified Teachers CSEA Master Agreement – Article 10.6 TEACHING CONDITIONS/ASSIGNMENTS and/or the Educational Support Professional Meet and Confer Handbook - 17.4 MILEAGE ALLOWANCE.
