Position Purpose
Supports the district’s communication efforts through creative storytelling, digital media production, and strategic social media content development to identify, capture, and share the stories of Fort Worth ISD. Serves as a key contributor in capturing and producing engaging video and photo content for social media. Collaborates with the Communications team to write and edit content for online newsroom, features, and announcements that highlight student achievements, staff excellence, and district initiatives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Proactively recognize and celebrate the achievements of students, staff, and volunteers through digital storytelling.
- Design, schedule, and publish engaging content across district-wide social media platforms to inform and connect with families, students, staff, and the broader community.
- Use analytics tools to track social media performance (reach, engagement, click-throughs) and adjust content strategy based on trends and audience behavior.
- Maintain a content calendar aligned with key district milestones, campaigns, and academic priorities to ensure proactive and intentional storytelling.
- Set content goals aligned with district initiatives (e.g., enrollment, attendance, family engagement) and develop posts that support those objectives.
- Produce photo montages, highlight reels, and short videos tailored for social media audiences.
- Develop A/B content tests (e.g., headlines, imagery, post timing) to determine what drives the most engagement and refine future posts accordingly.
- Monitor district social media messaging daily, providing timely and appropriate responses while ensuring alignment with FWISD values and tone.
- Identify high-performing content themes and replicate successful formats to maximize engagement and message retention.
- Create monthly performance reports and insights to inform leadership and refine strategy.
- Track and respond to engagement metrics in real-time to amplify successful content and pivot when necessary.
- Proofread and edit all content for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with district communication standards.
- Track and analyze social media performance using data tools to measure reach, engagement, and overall impact.
- Develop and maintain clear social media guidelines for district and campus-level platforms, ensuring consistent branding, appropriate use, and compliance with privacy policies.
- Provide support and guidance to campuses on managing social media pages, including technical troubleshooting, maintaining security/privacy, and appropriate engagement practices.
- Assist in the creation of content for various district communications, including e-newsletters, brochures, digital presentations, and community updates.
- Support the coordination and promotion of district events, marketing efforts, and community relations initiatives.
Safety
- Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of computer software programs that produce design products, such as Canva.
- Knowledge of video editing software such as Capcut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Canva Prop
- Experience working with Finalsite content management system
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of website design and development.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop and collaborate within and across teams.
- Ability to prepare, review, proofread, and edit the website script and copy when necessary.
- Knowledge of District policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Skill in interpersonal relationships, including using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative teams, including teams from other departments.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation concerning performance and professional growth.

Travel Requirements
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; communications and marketing equipment, including digital/video camera, microphones/speakers, and props for events.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; frequent walking.
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
- Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, digital media, graphic design, media arts or a related field required.
- Certification/License: None.
- Experience:
-
At least 2-3 years’ experience creating, scheduling, and managing content across major platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Experience developing and executing social media campaigns with measurable goals.
- Experience writing clear, engaging, and brand-aligned copy for a variety of audiences
- Background in journalism, public relations, or digital storytelling is a plus.
