Allen Media Group is recruiting for a Network Engineer that will design and implements technical solutions for network and security environments. Collaborating with their team, they provide technical support to achieve these solutions. The Network Engineer stays informed about emerging technologies and applies them to develop innovative networking solutions. Additionally, they ensure the network and its associated environments operate smoothly with 24/7 support.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the business requirements of all WGT networks
- Produce quality designs, solutions, and documentation that meet the requirements produced by Business, Product, and other Technical teams
- Effectively communicate statuses to the Project Manager, as requested throughout all projects -- this includes alerting the Project Manager when project schedules are impacted or are expected to be; ensures that project members are reporting their status in an accurate, timely, and professional manner
- Lead and participate in reviews of all network designs for routers/switches, load balancers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other network-related products
- Respond to production issues, perform problem determination and resolution, cooperatively with all relevant teams
- Help define the technical direction taken for the network team -- this includes the research, recommendation, and implementation of alternative products, tools, and methods that can be used to foster innovation and increase product quality and the productivity of Network Engineering as a whole
- Participate in the day-to-day activities within the Network Engineering group to minimize outages and provide high-quality 24x7 support of Network Infrastructure
- Assist in reporting of overall network health and security posture. Work with other team members and groups to implement and troubleshoot network solutions
- Partner with security teams to apply controls to appropriately secure networks
- Provide excellent customer service to internal groups and individuals
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Computer Science or relevant experience
- 5+ years experience in network engineering
- Comprehensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols (ARP, BGP, OSPF, 802.1w, MPLS, VRRP, etc.) (Cisco ACI and Juniper NXS)
- Comprehensive knowledge of configuring and implementing network components, architecture & security policies (Palo Alto Firewall, Cisco Meraki etc.)
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP troubleshooting tools and techniques
- Knowledge of layer 4 and 7 load balancing technology
- Demonstrated proficiency with network monitoring solutions and techniques
- Ability and desire to learn a complex infrastructure quickly
- Linux and scripting knowledge desirable
- MCSE, CNE, CISSP or CCNA a plus
