Job Summary/Description:
We are looking for someone who is a driven storyteller and knows photography is more than wide, medium, and tight shots. When it comes to a microphone, you use it as a tool for gathering sound and taking people to a place in time, rather than just an object for sound bites. As a News Editor, we’re looking for someone who can take a script and make it sing with natural sound, tremendous visuals you’ve gathered in the field, or pulled from our visual journalists. We've got all the tools you will need to succeed. From next generation cameras and laptop editors to a staff of talented Photographers, MMJs, Reporters, and Producers that all share a desire to tell great stories and be the best.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
* Shooting video and stills for our digital platforms and gathering information in the field
* Operating laptop editors, as well as live portable technology in the field
* Collaborating with reporters and producers on stories
* Maintaining equipment and vehicles as assigned by newsroom managers
* Editing rundowns to provide quality and dynamic newscasts for our audience
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Capable of working under pressure and meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy work environment
* Good communication skills, able to multitask efficiently
* Experience in video photography and non-linear editing preferred but not required. Must be available to work all shifts and have a clean driving record
* Knowledge of Sony PXW-X200 / 300 and Edius 9 is a plus
