The Opportunity
Reporting to the VP Brand - Streaming
- New Ventures, The Director, Streaming Programming & Experience will lead QVC+HSN+ Streaming Programming strategy including a diverse group of events, specials, curated collections, and video on demand. Sets strategy and direction and is accountable for calendar, financial plan goals and asset allocation. Work closely with tech and product team to improve customer experience in our streaming service. Collaborates with leaders to plan and improve the business, maximize opportunities, and architect the streaming growth strategy. Lead, manage and develop the Programming team. Critical to the role is the ability to create alignment between the company’s short-term needs and long-term business goals of elevating content, enhancing the shopping experience and expanding our audience. To enable the elevation of quality through staff skill development, technology enhancements and challenging norms, this role will directly partner with lead of content, merchandising, customer strategy and marketing.

As Qurate Retail Group's newest business unit, vCommerce Ventures is designed to accelerate our innovation in livestream commerce and establish our leadership in this space while also supporting the continued expansion of QVC's and HSN's linear video commerce ("vCommerce") experiences to new audiences. vCommerce includes video-driven shopping across linear TV, ecommerce sites, digital streaming and social platforms. vCommerce Ventures brings together livestream commerce teams and initiatives from across QVC and HSN into a separate, global business unit, with dedicated marketing, business development, content development and production, programming, planning, and merchandising resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting strategy and direction for financial planning goals.
- Developing promotional strategies, inventory management plans, and asset allocation.
- Collaborating with senior leaders to maximize business opportunities and architect the business agenda.
- Leading and developing the Streaming Commerce & Experience Planning and Programming team.
- Partner with stakeholder teams to continuously improve customer experience (marketing, product, creative, customer strategy)
- Partnering with Human Resources to attract, hire, and grow a talented and diverse team.
- Ensuring robust internal and external communication and teamwork within the department.
Your Impact
Develop And Communicate Programming Strategies
- Design and implement long-term and short-term sales strategies. Identify opportunities to enhance the streaming market position and drive sales.
- Develop and manage pricing and promotional strategies aligned with financial goals.
Strategize And Manage Asset Programming
- Oversee planning and management of streaming assets and content. Implement and communicate4 programming calendars effectively.
Content Positioning And Promotion
- Oversee asset management and programming content planning.
- Develop strategies for content positioning and promotion, including event strategies and content acquisition.
- Implement Talent scheduling strategy across all streaming channels.
Financial Planning
- Set and communicate financial plans, KPIs, and forecasts. Work with finance, merchandising, and marketing to report performance and drive accountability.
Organizational Development
- Lead staffing strategies with HR. Set performance goals, coach and develop staff, and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
- Foster a culture of innovation and performance.
Support People Agenda
- Promote the streaming team's learning strategy, DE&I initiatives, and Qurate Retail Group's principles.
What You Bring
- Leadership: Strong strategic leadership and team development skills.
- Communication: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication.
- Organizational: Ability to manage multiple tasks and make quick decisions.
- Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum eight years of business experience in retail, tech company or streaming company.
- Five years in a managerial role, preferably in retail or merchandising.
- Expert knowledge in programming.
- Knowledge of tech and product.
For New York City based roles only: $180K to $200K. Salary ranges are general guidelines only, and actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience and geographic location as well as business and market conditions.
