Position Summary
Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized
Traffic Manager to oversee commercial scheduling and traffic operations for our Houston and San Francisco markets. This position is responsible for ensuring all commercial content is aired accurately, following advertiser instructions and internal standards. The role works closely with Sales, Programming, Production, and Master Control teams to maintain seamless traffic workflows and a high standard of broadcast quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and maintain all commercial content across assigned stations using WideOrbit Traffic software.
- Enter and manage copy instructions, including assigning house numbers and maintaining the dub list.
- Communicate with Account Executives and clients to confirm timely receipt of copy materials.
- Notify Account Executives daily of missing or incomplete traffic instructions.
- Maintain a well-organized spot library and archive physical traffic logs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Programming to resolve scheduling or copy discrepancies.
- Act as a point of contact between Master Control and Sales on quality control issues related to commercial content and sponsored programming.
- Generate daily traffic reports and perform log reconciliation to ensure all aired content is accurate and accounted for.
Qualifications and Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Experience with WideOrbit Traffic or similar traffic management software.
- Prior experience in radio traffic or media operations.
- Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred due to market demographics.
