Our goal in the Film Bachelors program is to provide students with the focused knowledge and understanding of film theory and craft needed to qualify for entry-level industry positions as independent filmmakers, camera operators, production assistants, editors, sound designers, assistant directors, unit production managers, art directors, lighting technicians, director's assistants, and dialogue editors, as well as a variety of other positions in the film and television video industries. The program also strives to develop the team-building and collaborative skills needed to prepare graduates to work as part of a professional industry crew.
In the Broadcast Production courses, students will examine the techniques and technologies involved in creating multi-camera shoots for the news and narrative broadcast television genres. Students will explore the unique logistical, structural, and aesthetic methodologies that distinguish broadcast production from other types of production. Students will expand their understanding of preproduction, location shooting, editing, graphics, and writing for these modes of production. Course Directors may be required to teach both on-campus and online. All positions are full time, on-campus in Winter Park, FL.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create an environment of learning through effective teaching skills, maintain student-centered focus, and update curriculum to keep current and relevant to industry standards.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and encourage active learning.
- Create learning activities, including assignments, tests, quizzes and labs, and assess student outcomes in a timely manner through effective assessment and constructive feedback to students to support the learning process.
- Perform lectures for campus courses, and hold scheduled virtual course meetings for online courses. Teaching will be conducted through on-campus and online delivery.
- Interact positively with diverse student populations; provide all students with equal opportunities for learning.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the industry, maintain knowledge and skill relevancy through continuing education as defined in the faculty development plan.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee associate course directors and lab specialists to ensure the integrity of curriculum and degree learning outcomes.

Education and/or Experience:
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of four (4) years related and verifiable work experience and required to hold a Bachelor's degree in Film or Television Production, Digital Cinematography, Communications, Cinema Studies or related discipline from an accredited college or university.

- Must be well versed in multi-camera television studio production.
- Work experience with one or more of the following:
- Directing live television, video directing live shows, broadcast technical directing, electronic field production, news gathering, segment producing.
- Broadcast Television Switchers, Studio Television Cameras, CG Systems, Lighting Consoles, Large Audio Mixers, Master Setup Units, Remote Control Panels, Digital Video Servers, Video Editing Software Systems.
- Broadcast studio engineering, broadcast switchers, broadcast studio wiring / signal flow
- CCU / studio camera setup
- Digital video servers, transcoding video files
- Lighting with ETC or comparable lighting boards, DMX LED wiring
- Familiarity with digital audio consoles, wireless audio systems and wireless studio communication
- Chyron broadcast graphics
- Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Keynote/PowerPoint and Outlook
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:
Work is performed in an office and classroom environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active student and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system. May be subject to; bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
