Position Summary:
The Senior Vice President of National Sales at Nexstar will be responsible for driving sales performance and consistently exceeding revenue targets across the company’s full portfolio of linear and digital platforms. Based in NYC, this leadership role involves managing and mentoring multiple Account Executives and a team of sales support staff, while also serving as a direct liaison to clients and advertising agencies. The SVP will position Nexstar as an essential partner for advertisers seeking to reach highly engaged audiences at scale, leveraging the breadth and depth of the company’s national media assets. A key focus of the role is to develop and implement effective sales strategies, proactively identify new business opportunities, and close high-impact deals. The ideal candidate will be deeply knowledgeable about current media trends and skilled in aligning Nexstar’s offerings with the evolving demands of the advertising landscape. Success in this role requires a client-first approach, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate Nexstar’s diverse capabilities into measurable impact for advertisers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve in a key leadership role representing Nexstar National Advertising Sales, maintaining a strong, visible presence with clients and agencies to reinforce the company’s value and leadership in the media landscape.
- Achieve & exceed revenue and growth targets across Nexstar’s National linear and digital assets including CW Sports, CW Prime, CW Digital, NewsNation, NewsNation Digital, The Hill, AntennaTV, Rewind, and Nexstar’s Digital Audience Network.
- Manage a high performing sales team of Account Executives & support staff.
- Manage and grow key agency holding company and independent agency relationships.
- Build direct client relationships, keeping partners informed of Nexstar’s latest sales offerings and advertising solutions, ensuring they are aware of new opportunities to engage audiences and meet their marketing objectives.
- Create go-to market cross-platform sales strategies to increase market share and secure new business.
- Remain current with marketplace trends and advertiser priorities.
- Negotiate and manage Upfront & Scatter partnerships.
- Identify & execute go to market strategies to drive sponsorship revenue.
- Grow strategic partnerships specializing in data enablement and advanced advertising.
- Accelerate revenue growth by extending and championing improved technologies and workflows across the org.
- Partner closely with Platform Monetization on planning and packaging cross platform inventory.
- Collaborate closely with departments across the organization, including yield, marketing, research, operations, technology etc. to maximize partnership opportunities.
- Provide thought leadership with an emphasis on both actionable and future-state offerings within the digital space.
- Work effectively with team members throughout the portfolio; leverage relationships across the company to align client needs with all offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 15+ years’ experience in advertising, media, and relevant sales positions.
- Proven track record of successfully running a multi-platform sales team.
- Strong agency and client relationships in the marketplace.
- Has an influential presence in advertising and media communities.
- Key knowledge of the Broadcast (Entertainment/Sports), Cable (Entertainment/News), Digital, Streaming, Programmatic and Advanced Advertising marketplace.
- Brings extensive experience in both linear and digital advertising sales, with a proven track record of successfully driving revenue growth.
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to develop and present strategic opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation Range: $350,000-$450,000
