WBZ-TV/CBS Boston is looking for a Broadcast Systems/IT technician to join our company. You will be working in a fast-paced environment that requires accurate thinking during times of fast-paced work. As a member of the broadcast engineering team, you will assist with the technical support of broadcast systems, desktop computers, servers, network appliances, and applications. The position requires one-on-one interaction with end users and collaboration with vendors and manufacturers.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- A proven knowledge of IT, HDSDI television systems, and equipment found in a television plant.
- Proven experience in Avid iNews, Avid interplay, and video compression systems.
- Experience with microwave, satellite, and two-way radio systems.
- Proven experience with Bonded Cellular and transcoding platforms. You should have the ability to understand audio, video, and network schematics.
- Candidates should have a minimum of three years plus experience as a television or cable systems maintenance engineer.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- SBE certification is preferred.
- Work schedules may change - candidates must be able to work late hours, overnight, weekends, and holidays as needed.
