Lee Enterprises is seeking a Senior Digital Designer to join our Brand Marketing team. This role is central to shaping user experiences and building impactful creative designs that drives digital subscriptions across 75 local news markets nationwide.
The ideal candidate is a UX/UI-focused designer with front-end coding ability who can build websites and user journeys, while also contributing to brand campaigns with graphic design and creative assets. This hybrid skill set will help us design seamless digital experiences that attract and retain subscribers.
Key Responsibilities Include:
UX/UI & Web Design
- Design and optimize user flows, wireframes, and interfaces for websites, landing pages, and apps.
- Build and maintain front-end web experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (or similar).
- Translate complex user needs into intuitive, user-friendly designs that drive subscriptions.
Creative Campaign Support
- Collaborate on subscription campaigns across digital, social, email, and print.
- Create graphic assets, digital ads, and occasional video content that align with brand standards.
- Work with development teams to integrate designs into functional digital products.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams—including marketing, product, and development—to brand and market subscription products like mobile apps, podcasts, and newsletters.
- Provide insights and recommendations on user journeys and design best practices.
Project Management
- Balance multiple projects and deadlines, delivering high-quality work on time.
- Review project timelines and scope, and coordinate with freelance or agency partners when needed.
Basic Qualifications Include:
- Experience: 5–8+ years in UX/UI and web design, with additional background in graphic design or marketing creative.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- UX/UI Expertise: Proven track record designing websites, digital journeys, and user-centric interfaces that improve engagement and conversions.
- Creative Skills: Strong design eye with the ability to support campaigns, email marketing, and visual branding.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Portfolio Requirement:
Applicants must submit an online portfolio showcasing UX/UI work, web builds, and graphic design samples.
