The Programming Coordinator supports the Program Director in executing programming strategy, coordinating talent and staff, and ensuring smooth technical and operational delivery of on-air content. This role bridges communication between programming, production, and promotions while assisting with music scheduling, database maintenance, staff scheduling, and compliance. The Programming Coordinator also provides hands-on support as a board operator or producer when needed to maintain broadcast excellence
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Program Director with daily programming needs, including:
Music scheduling and database maintenance
Show preparation and on-air support
Monitoring content to ensure it meets station standards and FCC compliance
Serve as the primary communication hub between on-air talent, board operators, production, and promotions
Schedule on-air and support staff, manage meetings, and distribute programming updates
Step in as board operator or producer when needed to ensure broadcast continuity
Supervise technical operations to support seamless execution of programming
Maintain accurate programming logs, records, and reports in compliance with FCC and company standards
Collaborate with Promotions, Sales, and Finance to align programming initiatives with broader station goals

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in programming software and audio systems (e.g., MusicMaster, WideOrbit, NexGen, or similar)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to stand for long periods of time, and lift/move up to 50 lbs
Submit to a criminal background check
Legal right to work in the United States
Knowledge of FCC regulations and broadcast compliance standards
Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
2+ years of experience in radio programming, broadcasting, or media operations.
