Job Description/Summary:
Our Multi-Media Journalists must be versatile team members with a desire to learn strong storytelling skills. In this position, you will write a script, edit the video, and produce the story in its entirety. You’ll also be asked to do LIVE shots from field locations. We’re looking for an individual who is creative, inquisitive, and a strong critical thinker. This person should love challenging themselves to try new things. The right person has a strong commitment to ethical news coverage and will go beyond the basic requirements of their story each day to contribute to our various online platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Writing for on-air and online
- Conversational story delivery
- Knowledge of videography
- Knowledge of video editing
- Must meet deadlines and be able to multitask
- Great attitude and enjoy working with others
- Strong work ethic
- Enjoy talking with people
- Social Media involvement and knowledge
- Professional appearance
- Commitment to balanced news coverage
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- A command of the English language, spelling, and grammar.
- Personal appearances in the community and station functions are an important part of the job.
- A background in news/communications is preferred.
