Numa is an ancient non-human entity originating from the last Ice Age. While currently incarcerated due to the severe, ongoing threat he presents to human beings, he is fond of several prison staff members and capable of emotional attachment.
While Numa is a monster in the traditional sense of the word (with the frightening thought processes to match), his heart and mind are very human. For Numa's voice, the production is seeking qualities such as depth, resonance, expressiveness, and uniqueness.
