8 News Now, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and experienced Host/Multi-Media Journalist for our daily live lifestyle show, Las Vegas Now. Las Vegas Now is a live talk show that combines paid segments along with entertainment, community and lifestyle segments. The live show airs Monday through Friday 3P to 4P every week. The ideal candidate will produce and conduct live and taped paid and non-paid interviews, segments and packages, go live in the field, participate in product demonstrations, produce segments in the studio and in the field. This is a part time position.
- Provide daily on camera contributions to a daily television show by shooting, writing and editing lifestyle reports
- Assisting Executive Producer with writing show segments
- Interviewing show guests/clients both in studio and on location, both live and recorded
- Collecting information, video or photos at remote locations for post-production
- Greeting and assisting guests during show preparations.
- Researching show topics and developing questions for guests in coordination with Executive Producer
- Attending daily show meeting
- Assisting sales on presentations including meeting with clients
- Participating in events –either station-sponsored or others – to promote the show
- Maintaining the show's social media account and assisting with all online and streaming content as directed by the Producers
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in film, photography, television, news, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Two years' experience preferred. Proven experience as an MMJ, reporter, host, or on-air personality
- Link to previous on-air performance in preferred
- Adept with Sony XD cameras and Adobe Premiere editing
- Ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines
- Must be energetic, positive and great in a team environment
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Degree in or working knowledge of health and medical topics and/or nutrition and fitness preferred
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The LVN Host/MMJ must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the LVN Host/MMJ must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
