Executive, A&R and Artist Management to be based in
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
About the role:
A&R
- Maintain effective communication channels and trusting relationships between the Artist and three strategic investment companies - UM, the Creative Company, and the Artist Development Company Manage the domestic marketing team in curating the social media of domestic acts/label(s) assigned
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee collaborative activities between the Artist and the three investment companies, ensuring all parties are aware of progress and responsibilities, including NRI deals, recordings, visual production, promotions, and other collaborative projects.
- Assist in managing artist-related projects involving all three investment companies, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of information, and accurately and promptly transfer information, requests, and feedback between the Artist and the investment companies.
- Understand the needs, goals, and concerns of the Artist, and support him in his interactions and work with the investment companies.
- Proactively identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise between the Artist and the investment companies, ensuring positive collaborative relationships.
- Regularly report on collaboration progress, any emerging issues, and propose solutions.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of all activities, gathering feedback from all parties to improve workflows.
- Process, track agreements and documents related to the artist and the investment companies. Coordinate with UM legal department to ensure the legal validity of documents.
- Developing and monitor budgets for artist-related activities and collaborative projects. Process invoices, expenses, and ensure timely payments. Report on budget status as required.
Distribution
- Seek successful distribution deals with new Aritsts and Partners.
- Collect data and process P&L for each new deal to get approval from UM Management.
- Manage the entire music release process, from materials preparation (metadata, artwork, audio, lyrics, etc) to release on various platforms on time, in the correct format, and with accurate information.
- Execute the complete ingestions in UM system.
- Resolve issues related to digital music distribution, including copyright, payment, metadata and technical matters.
- Work closely with the marketing, creative, and Artist team to run effective release campaigns.
- Keep track and analyze the performance of the releases on digital platforms, providing reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, policies, and technologies in the field of digital music distribution to support Artists and Partners.
- Process, track agreements and documents related to Distribution.
- Report royalties statement quarterly to Partners. Process invoices and payment-related tasks to help partners receive full payments.
Desirable Traits:
- At least 2 years of related experience
- Significant experience in working in music industry
- Proven track record of identifying and developing artists and their music
- Forwarding thinking, ability to use data analysis to anticipate trends
- Proven ability to develop innovative, creative and commercially successful marketing concepts outside of the usual
- Ability to network and build relationships and deal with situations with tact and diplomacy
- Great knowledge of the domestic market as well as certain regional exposure
