The Kansas City Star offers a robust internship program that includes spring and summer positions covering a wide variety of responsibilities.
Many current Star newsroom staff members started at the company as interns, and we're proud to continue the tradition by welcoming you and other top students again this year.
We are looking for the best candidates to work as reporters and visual journalists during the spring and summer.
In the past, this has included assignments in legislative, local government, breaking news, sports*, visual journalism and audience engagement. Please let us know your preferred reporting topic as well as any specialized expertise, such as data reporting or audience engagement.
We believe that our team is stronger when we include individuals with a variety of perspectives and experiences, and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

- For visual journalist positions: Please include still photography and videography in your submitted work samples.
