Job Summary/Description:
KNOE 8 News is now accepting applications for an experienced Anchor/Producer to join our morning team. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic journalist who connects with the audience online, in the field, in the community, and behind the desk.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Anchor assigned newscasts
- Fill-in produce assigned newscasts
- Anchor and produce content for our streaming platforms
- Develop sources and ideas daily that resonate with our audience and are in line with station strategy
- Schedule, conduct, and shoot interviews and edit video
- Anchor and respond to breaking news coverage on all platforms
- Use strong journalistic ethics, news judgment, and decision-making in daily coverage
- Use digital and social media in the news gathering process and presentations
- Meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous newsroom experience is preferred
- At least two years of reporting, shooting, and editing experience is preferred
- A college journalism degree or equivalent is preferred
- Able to work alone and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with a passion for creating high-quality content, who wants to learn and grow on the job and continue to develop their craft
- Addresses challenges with creative solutions
