Connoisseur Media - Moberly, MO, is seeking a talented On-Air Personality/Sales Executive for our Moberly location. The ideal candidate is someone who has a desire to learn all aspects of the radio operation. We're looking for an on-air personality with at least one year of experience who is capable of wearing many hats on the programming team and has a passion for radio. Duties will include news writing and reading, audio production, and on-location broadcasts. Knowledge of WordPress and video production is a plus. This position will also work on the sales side, maintaining relationships with current clients and reaching out to new clients to become their marketing partner.
Locally, Connoisseur Media operates radio stations KWIX, KRES, KIRK, and KTCM as well as www.centralmoinfo.com. We will provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.
Responsibilities of this position may include:
- Engage with listeners via phone calls, contests, and social media.
- Broadcast live from remote locations and events.
- Operate the control console.
- Conduct on-air interviews.
- Play-by-Play of area sports teams.
- Maintain traffic logs and transmitter readings.
- Contact established and new customers in our listening area and present radio/digital marketing plans.
- Submit ad schedule and copy to the traffic department.
- Generate new business and establish relationships with clients.
Requirements of this position include the following:
- A minimum of one year of on-air experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
- Proficient in the use of audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
- Must be a team player and work well with management and staff at all levels.
- Ability to successfully execute station events and remotes.
- Able to relate to the audience and have strong listener interaction.
- Public speaking skills and the ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
- Excellent problem-solving and prioritizing skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle pressures and deadlines.
- Skilled in the operation of the control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment.
- Be a positive member of a tight-knit team.
- Must be creative and innovative with a strong work ethic.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a fully insured personal vehicle.
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, and be detail-oriented.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing culture and environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must have a great personality and be able to work in a team environment.
Preference may be given to candidates who have the above experience plus the following:
- Prior broadcast industry experience.
- Prior sales experience
