Digital Weekend Supervising Producer

This position is for someone interested in taking charge and leading the way on our journalism on weekends—because you know the news never stops.
This position will be a 4-day workweek with 7am-7pm on weekends and two 8-hour shifts during the week.
It can be based in our Chicago or New York newsrooms.
Position Description
- Ensure our NewsNation journalism maintains high standards and differentiates our brand from our competitors
- Create and oversee the creation of news content, including assigning and reviewing stories, video and social content.
- Craft compelling headlines, teases and social media posts that encourage followers to engage with our journalism
- Package content that encourages audience engagement to stay on the page longer or view more pages per visit
- Planning and executing coverage plans for weekend news, events and special programming
- Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met
- Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels
- Utilize SEO best practices
Qualifications
· 4+ years working as a digital reporter, producer, manager or editor in a major market or national newsroom.
· Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal
· Experience working with video and social media
· Excellent communicator, both oral and written
· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Salary Range: $75,000-$95,000
