Job Summary/Description:
This is a unique position. Thousands of viewers in western North Dakota, eastern Montana, and northern South Dakota crave more news each day as our staff reports news as it is breaking and live from our newsroom. Now we have an opportunity to deliver even more news and information.
The host produces, presents, and technically directs content every day using a special interface developed for and with the input of KFYR TV. We are live each day on desktop, mobile devices, in our apps, and on OTT devices. If you can talk, love, breaking news, and are technically inclined to multitask while talking in front of one of multiple cameras, this is an exciting, groundbreaking position.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Our hosts do all of the following every day:
- Handle Breaking News
- Talk to reporters and news makers via FaceTime and Skype
- Self-direct the show
- Set up and coordinate guests for in-studio or remote appearances
- Plan content for each day
- Perform "live read" commercials from the East Texas Now desk
- Talk a lot!
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Competence in reporting live, online, and on air
- Reporting on digital platforms, often live via FaceTime or Skype
- Setting up guests and reporters
- Computer skills
- Experience in talk radio is a plus
