Description
Amazon Music is looking for a talented and motivated Business Affairs Specialist for our Music Publishing team. Reporting to the Director and Global Head of Music Publishing, this role will engage with publishing and CMO rightsholders in securing new rights for Amazon Music's services and help develop our global music licensing strategies. The Business Affairs Specialist will work cross-functionally with legal, finance, and the record label licensing team. This individual will have passion for music, an entrepreneurial spirit, and experience in the music industry working with music publishing rightsholders in the US internationally.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of entertainment industry deal negotiation experience
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in business intelligence and analytics
- 5+ years of experience in music licensing, rights management, or related field
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to model financial impacts
Preferred Qualifications
- J.D., or MBA
- Experience in content negotiation, acquisition or business development
- 6+ years of experience in digital music services, music publishing, or rights management
- Deep understanding of global music licensing frameworks and rights structures
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing multi-territory licensing deals
- Experience using SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools for complex data analysis
- Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to work with C-level executives and key stakeholders
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and Operations teams
- Track record of developing and implementing strategic business initiatives
- Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously
- Strong business acumen with deep understanding of the digital music ecosystem and competitive landscape

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
