Job Summary/Description:
This role combines on-air hosting with multimedia journalism, requiring a versatile professional who can research, report, shoot, edit, and present engaging lifestyle content across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about lifestyle topics, including food, health, wellness, entertainment, local events, home and garden, and community features.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the on-air host for lifestyle segments and special programming.
- Operate professional video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment in the field and edit video content using industry-standard editing software.
- Produce content optimized for digital platforms and social media channels and engage with viewers across social media platforms to build audience connection.
- Work closely with producers, assignment editors, and news management.
- Collaborate with the news team on cross-platform content opportunities, participate in editorial meetings, and contribute creative ideas.
- Meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines consistently
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Broadcasting, or related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience)
- 2+ years of experience in multimedia journalism, television production, or related field.
- Proven on-air hosting or reporting experience (demo reel required)
- Proficiency in video shooting with professional cameras (Sony, Panasonic, Canon, etc.)
- Strong video editing skills using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of audio recording and lighting techniques
