As the Sr. Accountant, you will serve as the senior finance voice for the North American business and the primary partner for the New York, Los Angeles & Canada teams. Bringing strong attention to detail, deep knowledge of operational accounting principles, and the ability to build trusted relationships with team members, you play a critical role in connecting and aligning the North American and UK teams. In this role, you will report to the SVP Finance & Accounting, who is based in London and oversees all operational finance.
This is a hybrid role that will require you to commute to our New York City office a minimum of three days a week.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Managing and performing accounting functions, including - AP, AR, accruals, prepayments, intercompany, payroll, and revenue recognition.
- Ensuring accurate and timely month-end close process by owning assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Overseeing tax functions for the US and Canada by partnering with external tax accountants to ensure on-time and complete tax filings– including federal, state, and local legal requirements.
- Supporting parent company and statutory UK audits for US and Canadian companies by providing reporting and required support documents.
- Maintaining internal processes to ensure controls are efficient and utilized within the company.
Other Areas
- Submitting WHT claims on foreign sales.
- Serving as the main point of contact for the local Sales team to address operational accounting queries.
- Managing relationships with North American bankers, auditors, and tax authorities.
What Makes You Qualified:
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in the accounting field.
- Experience using SAP Business One and Salesforce would be beneficial; willingness and ability to learn new systems as needed.
- Track record of exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with a global team in high-grown business.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, influence thoughtfully, and maintain strong working relationships in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong ownership of responsibilities and an ability to work independently and exercise initiative to define and resolve problems.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- Salary range: $100,000 – $110,000 USD
