Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Support the Communications & Public Relations team in generating positive consumer and trade media coverage for Hearst Magazines’ brands
- Write and deliver proactive pitches across broadcast, online, and print media
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, manage media lists, handle press inquiries, and follow up with key publications
- Assist with logistics for national and local broadcast segments, including sourcing products, drafting talking points, and coordinating on-site needs
- Monitor press coverage and prepare weekly, monthly, and end-of-year media reports
- Research and manage speaking engagements, awards submissions, and industry events
- Provide on-site PR support for Hearst Magazines events as needed
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
- 1+ years of in-house or agency public relations experience, ideally within entertainment, lifestyle, and/or automotive spaces
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
- Familiarity with traditional, digital, and social media platforms and the evolving media landscape
- Experience supporting live events and working with executives and on-air or editorial talent
- A collaborative mindset paired with the ability to work independently and proactively
- Creative, curious, and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Hybrid work environment requiring four days per week in the New York City office

The base salary for this role is between $50,000 - $55,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
