About the Role:
Corus Barrie radio stations (BIG 101, Fresh 93.1 & 95.1 The Peak) have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Promotions Coordinator to join their team.
Reporting to the Promotions Manager, the successful candidate would be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing promotional efforts including on-air / online / street level activities, charitable partnerships, and public relations. You will contribute by:
- Responsible for the execution of all aspects of promotions for Fresh 93.1, BIG 101 and 95.1 The Peak with remote promotional support for 104.5 Fresh Radio and boom 101.9 (Cornwall).
- Implementing promotions/contests, writing promotional proposals/outlines, creating, and scheduling social media content, informing talent of contest details, listener correspondence, and prize fulfillment.
- Planning and executing station events and charitable/community partnerships.
- Create revenue opportunities through the regular and ongoing execution of station sales and marketing initiatives, including collaborating with the sales team and building sales promotions proposals.
- Work closely with the Promotions Manager and Program Manager on promotions and marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Work with and engage community organizations and business partners to develop effective partnerships.
- On-site appearances, and coordination of events/concerts, and set-up promotional activations or remote broadcasts when required.
- Monitor trends and adjustments in the market / industry to capitalize on promotional or marketing opportunities.
- Schedule service/maintain company vehicles.
- Schedule Street Team and prepare activation directions.
- Availability for weekend and evening activities is required.
- Assist with Social Media feeds and maintenance.
- Respond in a timely manner to audiences when they have questions, inquiries, or comments on our content or brand.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and experience you will bring:
- Post-secondary education is journalism, broadcasting, marketing, or a related field.
- A very positive attitude with a desire to excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
- The ability to work well under tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks.
- Full understanding of all social media outlets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with adversity.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Experience in a fast-paced promotional environment is an asset.
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends when required for promotional activity.
- A valid “G” class Ontario driver’s license and an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
