Overview
Salem Cultivate, division of Salem Media, offers an exceptional opportunity for a Marketing Operations & Fundraising Coordinator.
The Marketing Operations & Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for the execution, setup, and operational management of Salem Media Group’s digital fundraising and lead-generation campaigns, known as Salem Cultivate. This role ensures campaigns launch correctly, offers and donation flows work end-to-end, donors receive proper follow-up, and marketing systems remain clean and functional.
This is a hands-on, systems-driven role that works closely with Sales, Marketing Operations, Design, Email, and external ministry partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working inside marketing platforms, spreadsheets, and workflows every day.
This role does not own revenue forecasting or billing, but plays a critical role in campaign quality, donor experience, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Campaign Setup & Execution
- Build and manage campaign components across:
- Email marketing platforms (ActiveCampaign)
- Landing pages and offers (Acquire)
- Donation platforms (RaiseDonors, VirtuousRaise, Classy, client-hosted pages)
- Coordinate campaign launches by ensuring:
- Creative Brief captures the unique strategy we have outlined
- Creative assets are approved and correctly implemented
- URLs, UTMs, and confirmation pages function properly
- Automations and integrations are tested before go-live
- Support Cost Per Lead and Cultivate fundraising campaigns from kickoff through live execution
Marketing Operations & Offer Management
- Create and maintain:
- Downloadable PDF offers
- Freebie multi-email campaigns
- Secondary and post-offers promotional placements
- Alert bars and on-site promotions
- Ensure all offers meet internal requirements (PDF format, imagery, expiration dates, tracking)
- Coordinate with internal email and editorial teams to schedule and verify placements
- Maintain organized asset folders and reporting sheets for each client
Donor Flow & Fulfillment Coordination
- Ensure donor follow-up workflows are executed correctly, including:
- Thank-you calls (via call center coordination)
- Handwritten postcards (Handwrytten)
- Upsell and fulfillment handoffs
- Manually process donor tagging and exports when integrations are unavailable or fail
- Verify donor data accuracy across platforms
System Maintenance & Hygiene
- Perform ongoing maintenance in ActiveCampaign, including:
- Tag management
- List hygiene and unsubscribes
- Monthly cleanup after lead validations
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of automations, zaps, and integrations
- Document processes, exceptions, and fixes to support team continuity
Reporting & Internal Support
- Prepare and update campaign reporting sheets
- Support Campaign Operations & Revenue Manager with:
- Lead exports
- Validation files
- Campaign documentation
- Confirm campaign data is complete and accurate before handoff to finance or sales
- Track and document A/B tests and optimizations in internal knowledge systems
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 2–4 years of experience in:
- Marketing operations
- Digital marketing coordination
- Fundraising or nonprofit marketing
- Hands-on experience with:
- Email marketing platforms (ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, or similar)
- Spreadsheet-based reporting (Google Sheets / Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Clear written communication skills for internal and client coordination
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with donation or fundraising platforms (RaiseDonors, Virtuous, Classy, Stripe)
- Familiarity with:
- CPL or performance-based marketing models
- Zapier or n8n automations
- Text marketing platforms
- Experience working in media, nonprofit, or subscription-based organizations
- Comfort working cross-functionally with sales, design, email, and technical team
