Are you ready to tell the stories that shape North San Luis Obispo County? KSBY, The E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo, California, is seeking a passionate Multimedia Journalist. This Multimedia Journalist will bring communities such as of Atascadero, Paso Robles, Templeton, and the beautiful vineyards region to life through compelling storytelling. You'll be at the heart of stories that matter to our viewers while showcasing the unique character of California's Central Coast.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Pitch and develop news stories for broadcast, website, and digital platforms
Evaluate news leads and tips to develop story ideas
Receive editorial feedback, coaching, and technical support from main newsroom staff
Gather and verify information through interviews, observation and research
Organize material, determine focus and write story according to prescribed style and standards
Create, cultivate, and maintain valuable sources in the community
Capture video, write, and edit content for newscasts, programs, online, and digital platforms
Record video, conduct interviews, and build graphics to enhance storytelling
Write engaging stories that adhere to proper editorial style and AP format
Deliver live reports from the field or appear on camera for recorded segments
Work cooperatively with photographer if one is assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Computer literacy in newsroom computer systems
Videography and non-linear editing experience preferred
Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment
Experience in editing video on Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or similar system
Proficiency at posting content to various digital sites
Self-motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.

COMPENSATION RANGE:
Hourly: $26.00 - 28.85
Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in California.
