Position OverviewCUMULUS MEDIA (Indianapolis, IN) Indy’s Sports Ticket 1430AM is looking for its next Superstar Sports Talk Show Host. Candidates must be entertaining, engaging, funny, well-read, able to intelligently talk about the Indianapolis Colts, Pacers, Fever, IU and Purdue sports as well as key national sports stories. This is an 8 hr. a day, full-time job doing prep and research that translates and relates to a 25–54-year-old listener. Must have an extremely strong work ethic, work well with others, a team player, be coachable, embrace all social media platforms daily, be a great interviewer, and have a proven track record of radio ratings success. The right fit for this job is extremely reliable, flexible, and passionate about radio and digital audio mediums.
Key Responsibilities & QualificationsKey Responsibilities:
- Prepare the day’s top stories and support guest booking efforts in collaboration with the show’s producer.
- Incorporate sports sound bites effectively to enhance show content and listener engagement.
- Partner closely with the Program Director to align content with the station’s strategic goals.
- Deliver clear, compelling, and effective live endorsements during broadcasts.
- Manage daily social media activity by posting relevant, audience-focused content across all platforms.
- Monitor and respond appropriately to breaking news, ensuring timely and accurate coverage.
- Oversee the technical quality and accuracy of all incoming and outgoing on‑air programming for the show.
- Participate confidently in remote broadcasts and represent the show at public appearances and events.
Qualifications:
- On-Air experience with successful ratings history preferred
- Strong production skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
- Strong knowledge of FCC rules and regulations
- Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions
- Demonstrated creativity and imagination on-air and on-line
- Thrive in a team environment
- Demo of show, interviews, commentary, social media and any video work should be added to online profile/application
- Familiar with audio mixers and remote monitoring systems for radio transmissions
- Perform other duties as assigned
