As The Associated Press continues to diversify its revenue base by investing in its consumer-facing business, we are seeking a Sr Director, Reader Revenue Growth and Acquisition to lead strategy and execution for our fast-growing consumer donations business. This is a revenue leadership role accountable for scaling recurring donations by expanding and activating engaged consumer audiences and converting that engagement into durable financial support for AP’s journalism. You will drive growth through scalable systems, lifecycle strategies, funnel optimization, and experimentation. This relatively new line of business holds significant growth potential and is a key area of investment across the organization.
This person drives growth, user acquisition, and retention to maximize recurring donation revenue and LTV. In this role you will blend marketing, product, and data to design and operate scalable growth systems that turn audience reach into durable financial support. You will manage the donor lifecycle across acquisition, conversion and retention through funnel design and optimization, lifecycle journeys and experimentation -- working closely with product, engineering, and editorial partners. With a compelling brand value proposition and the underlying infrastructure in place to scale growth, you have the opportunity to make an immediate impact to the AP’s bottom line.

Drive acquisition and retention of high-intent users across on-site experiences, owned channels (registration, newsletters, app), and paid media.

Partner with product, engineering, and editorial teams to optimize registration flows, reg walls, on-site acquisition modules, and other conversion experiences.

The ability to communicate clearly and regularly with teams, stakeholders, and executives to align on progress, challenges, and opportunities
This position follows a hybrid work model based in AP’s New York headquarters. AP employees are onsite three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
