The News Bureau Communications Associate position will support the NFL's Communications Department with direction from the Senior Coordinator, Manager and Chief NFL Spokesperson, and assist the team's rapid response and news monitoring operation. The position will provide real-time updates to NFL leadership and stakeholders in a digestible format through social media monitoring, story gathering, coverage tracking and news analysis. The position produces daily clip report packages distributed organization-wide and assists with additional publicity projects as directed by manager/department leads.
Responsibilities
- Monitor media coverage across online/digital, social, print and broadcast news via monitoring tools and social media platforms. Distribute real-time news internally and track league-related topics and stakeholders on a constant basis.
- Create news clip packages on a daily basis.
- Create issue-oriented coverage reports as needed/requested. Identify news coverage that merits follow-up engagement.
- Integrate coverage reports with quantitative metrics to present a complete picture of media coverage.
- Maintain awareness of conversations and trends across new and emerging platforms.
- Conduct general league-related background research across a variety of topics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and foundational experience in communications, public relations, research, or data/media analytics—whether from internships, entry‑level roles, or academic/portfolio projects; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in X (formally Twitter) and other social media platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of and interest in the NFL, current events and trends in sports media, marketing and business.
- General data entry and general research skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work quickly in rapid response situations.

- This position will require travel to select NFL meetings and events, including on some weekends.
Terms / Expected Hours of Work
This job posting is for a position with one of the NFL’s third-party agency partners that provides services to the NFL. The individual selected for this role will be an employee of that third-party agency and not the NFL. All compensation, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are handled by the agency. The assignment to provide services to the NFL will be limited in duration but may be extended for an additional period by agreement between the NFL and the agency.
There will be overtime hours required.
