Global Total Rewards consists of two core teams: Global Benefits and Global Compensation. Together, they design and deliver comprehensive, competitive programs that include benefits, incentives, and pay structures aimed at attracting and retaining top talent across all NBA markets in the United States, Canada, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
These teams are responsible for managing and continuously improving compensation and benefit programs to ensure alignment between individual performance and organizational objectives. They collaborate across all regions and business lines to develop short- and long-term incentive plans that drive results while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Job Summary
The Total Rewards Department is responsible for designing and delivering innovative and market-leading plans and programs that meet current/future employees'/participants' needs, stay within budget and support the NBA's business priorities.
The Job Evaluation Analyst is a project employee position. Reporting to the Compensation Analyst, you will be responsible for the day-to-day job evaluation process at the NBA ensuring that all our job descriptions are correctly written and categorized in order to ensure we can continue to attract the best talent for the positions while maintaining pay equity across the business. For this role, you will need to possess strong attention to detail and superior organizational skills, can understand and interpret job descriptions, and make recommendations to the business around the correct classification of jobs.
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for job evaluation process, including the documentation of proposed job level with support, in a timely, consistent and defensible manner in accordance with the NBA job architecture
- Provide a high level of customer service to HR Business Partners through prompt and effective evaluations
- Uploads and maintains finalized job descriptions in the new job description platform
- Supports the roll out of a new job architecture process, the job description platform and the ongoing maintenance
- Assist with the development of a job governance process
- Stay current on provincial, state, and federal pay‑related legislation, including minimum wage updates, EEO code changes, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) updates, and pay transparency requirements
- Support the team in conducting FLSA classifications to ensure compliance and coordinate classification recommendations with Total Rewards and HRBPs
- Regularly conducts audits to ensure our system and processes are up to date and compliant with relevant legislation
- Works with HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to ensure consistency in practice to collect, write, review and maintain job descriptions with a view towards consistent and accurate depiction of the work being performed
- Supports the refresh of our tools/education for job descriptions and job evaluation process and to make these accessible to HR and the business managers
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of job families, which includes activation/de-activation of new job codes, creating new job codes, regularly conducts audits
Required Education / Relevant Experience
- A degree in a relevant field such as Human Resources is highly desirable for this position
- 3-5 years’ relevant experience working in a similar role
- Previous working experience with writing job descriptions and providing evaluations and recommendations
Required Skills / Knowledge Attributes
- Knowledge of compensation theory and principles relating to job design, job analysis, job documentation and job evaluation
- Experience working in a complex, international organization
- Strong attention to detail, methodical approach to job evaluation process
- Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Must possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent customer service focus and team player
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
