Major Responsibilities
- This role will be part of the Global Content & Media Distribution sales team, acting as an Account Manager / Partner Marketing Professional for existing and incoming partners across the APAC Region.
- To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to be able to efficiently manage partners and various internal business units (Sales, Production/Programming & Marketing teams in particular) to execute projects.
- Onboard and manage NBA partners to deliver a localized and/or optimized NBA broadcast product to each market that meets the partner’s and business needs. Work closely alongside partners to educate them on best practices for growing the NBA.
- Support broadcast, digital media, payment providers and other NBA media partners to execute local campaigns for partner-owned platforms.
- Identify opportunity areas for audience development and partner growth using content, marketing strategies and all types of partnerships to make the NBA more accessible and relatable to new fans.
- This role will be part of working deal teams across different business lines to create, negotiate and execute partnerships.
- Provide partners with opportunities to acquire additional rights from the NBA’s leagues to enhance their existing packages.
- Assist in the sales process and rights tenders in markets for which you act as the Account Manager.
- Assist in the preparation of sales materials and market / partner research.
Required Skills/Knowledge
- You must be a passionate consumer of entertainment and/or sports, strive to be an expert on all-things NBA. In addition, you possess a combination of the following:
- Have experience in dealing with client accounts within the entertainment, sports or media industry.
- The candidate must understand how commercial partnerships operate and be able to effectively communicate and execute contractual activities.
- Ability to lead and execute marketing campaigns from start to finish
- Stakeholder management within a global matrixed organization either at HQ or in a Regional Office
- Understanding of subscription models, current digital media landscape and consumer trends.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication.
- High proficiency utilizing all Microsoft Office products.
- Experience in marketing analytics platforms (Adobe, Branch, Kochava), ad trafficking and use of first-party data. Additional experience across search, social, app and affiliate a bonus.
- Fluency in English (Japanese language proficiency preferred).
Experience Needed
- 5+ years of experience in a similar account management or marketing role strongly preferred.
- Experience in entertainment, sports or media industries.
- Experience in a digital subscriber services business model (such as OTT, gaming, wireless, e-commerce or mobile services) is desired.
Educational Background Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business/commerce, sports management and/or relevant field of study (MBA preferred).
