Help Shape the Future of Canada’s Public Broadcaster
Reporting to the Director, Delivery Portfolio, you will join Radio-Canada’s dynamic Digital Media team. You will play a pivotal role in a major initiative to modernize our digital ecosystem, ensuring it remains resilient and efficient within an ever-evolving media landscape. This strategic position involves close collaboration across various departments and offers the opportunity to directly shape the public broadcaster’s future.
Your Role as a Business Analyst
As a Senior Business Analyst, you are an expert in process analysis and solution design. Your mission is to translate complex business needs into high-performing digital solutions. This includes conducting in-depth needs assessments, modelling current and future-state processes, and developing digital road maps that align with business unit requirements. You will play a critical role from the earliest stages of project definition to ensure all requirements are comprehensively captured and rigorously documented.
Key Tasks
Requirement Definition and Prioritization: Lead the collection and documentation of business requirements from internal and external partners, including the development of user scenarios and use cases. Facilitate the prioritization of project requirements.
Conduct stakeholder mapping and identification.
Draft or assist in drafting user stories and acceptance criteria.
Strategy and Modelling: Analyze business needs and model complex processes to present concrete, well-documented solutions tailored to our operational environment.
Technical and Operational Documentation: Produce high-quality deliverables, including requirements traceability matrices and flow diagrams; author the Business Requirements Document (BRD) to serve as the guide for technical implementation.
Cross-Functional Co-ordination: Serve as a key liaison between stakeholders (Digital Media or other departments, external vendors, etc.) and translate functional and operational business requirements into technical specifications for development teams.
Support and Innovation: Act as a strategic adviser to partners and users to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, taking an active role in planning the implementation of new systems.
What You Bring
Education and Experience:
Graduate diploma in a relevant field (business analysis, information systems, administration, engineering, etc.).
Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role in a digital work environment.
Functional and Behavioural Skills:
Strong ability to analyze and synthesize information.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to influence, persuade and initiate the required changes within the organization.
Strong active listening and interpersonal skills.
Action- and outcome-focused client approach.
High degree of independence, initiative and attention to detail in task execution.
Ability to resolve complex problems quickly and efficiently.
Sense of responsibility.
Solid understanding of the software and process development life cycle, from initial design to launch.
Ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced environments characterized by organizational transformation and operational ambiguity.
Must-Haves:
Proven experience in the media industry.
Experience in the analysis or implementation of broadcasting and streaming platforms.
Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Proficiency in English.
