Job Description
NBC News NOW is launching a new live two-hour show airing 10a–noon, and we’re looking for a bold, strategic Executive Producer to build and lead it from the ground up.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the editorial identity, production standard, and long-term growth of a live daily program at launch. The Executive Producer will shape the show’s voice, set the daily agenda, and lead a high-performing team to deliver the best of NBC News reporting to a growing streaming audience in an approachable, engaging way.
We’re looking for a newsroom leader with sharp editorial instincts, exceptional control room experience, and the ability to inspire a team to do its best work every day. What You’ll Do:
- Define the daily editorial vision and long-term direction of the show
- Build smart, compelling rundowns that reflect the biggest stories of the day and anticipate what’s next
- Lead the control room during live broadcasts, especially during breaking news
- Set the tone for writing, pacing, and visual storytelling across every segment
- Collaborate with Anchor to ensure strong editorial alignment and on-air execution
- Partner with newsgathering teams, bureaus, and colleagues across NBC News to bring the best reporting to air
- Oversee and mentor Senior Producers, Segment Producers, Associate Producers, and Production Assistants
- Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and journalistic integrity
- Drive innovation in format, storytelling, and audience engagement for a streaming-first environment
- Make decisive editorial calls under pressure and guide the team through fast-moving news cycles
Qualifications
- 10+ years of leadership experience in broadcast, cable, or streaming news
- Proven track record of leading a live daily news program
- Extensive control room leadership experience
- Exceptional editorial judgment and deep understanding of journalistic standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire a large, diverse team
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills
- A strategic thinker with a clear editorial point of view
- Calm, confident decision-maker in high-pressure live environments
- Strong visual producer that elevates every program they touch
- Ability to work extended hours when news demands it
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Must be willing and able to work in person five days a week at 30 Rock

Additional Requirements:
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from NBCUniversal’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza office in New York, NY, five days per week.

Salary range: $170,000 - $250,000 (bonus eligible)
