Your role
The Digital Newsroom is seeking a permanent full-time journalist to join its news service.
In this role, you will be responsible for writing general news content, processing photos, videos, and audio, and proposing clear and engaging news stories for our digital platforms, all in compliance with the journalistic standards, practices, and policies of CBC/Radio-Canada. You must be able to work and react quickly in an environment driven by the unpredictable flow of news.
This position will be based at the Maison de Radio-Canada in Montreal, according to production needs. You must be available to work atypical hours, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
This position requires full-time on-site presence.
Job requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Three (3) years of experience in journalism
At least one (1) year in digital journalism, an asset
Skills:
Strong general knowledge
Excellent awareness of current events
Strong ability to simplify complex topics
Excellent command of French
Knowledge of English (spoken and written) is an asset
Proficiency in digital communication and writing techniques
Creativity and ease in exploring new digital formats
Good knowledge of social media
Ability to work as part of a team
Knowledge of the organization’s journalistic standards and practices
