Job Description
The Senior Vice President, Content & Development is responsible for the development of scripted content and programming for Telemundo Studios designed for all linear and streaming platforms. A significant component of the role will be leading development and content strategy across the studios, partnering closely with the content team, marketing, commercial, RS&I and analytics/insights.
- Develop and execute a strategy that maximizes all content development
- Supervises and manages the scripted development department
- Analyzes storylines and pitches and monitors the quality of each production
- Play a key role in the green light committee in the evaluation and approval of potential projects
- Focuses on streamlining production and generating content that is relevant and innovative for the different audiences across our multiple portfolios
- Works closely with the SVP of Production, Development Executives, Commercial head and writers from development phase through the end of project in an effort to adapt and edit stories as needed
- Acts as the liaison between programming, entertainment executives and studios for relevant productions and content
- Works under the direct supervision of the Chief Content Officer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years of experience in long form Spanish language scripted development and/or TV/film production
- Exhibits extensive knowledge of TV production, tastes and demographics of the US Hispanic population
- Bachelor’s Degree in either Arts, Communication, Journalism, TV Production or other related fields
- Must have extensive creative and managerial experience in developing scripted programming for novella/soap opera genre
- Must possess the ability to manage and bond with high powered talent
- Must possess the ability to manage administrative duties, departmental budgets and maintain corporate obligations
- Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish
- Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
