SummaryThe Athletic Communications Manager provides assistance to the Director of Athletics Communications in the areas of sports publicity, media relations, game management, publications, and website maintenance.
This position is In-PersonEssential Functions- Coordinate the department's broadcast program, including hiring, training, and scheduling personnel, and developing a master schedule.
- Train and supervise student crews for public address and statistics.
- Write releases, post-game reports, and other media documents to publicize Barry University athletics; maintain contact with local, regional, and national media.
- Design, edit, and write departmental publications
- Assist with the maintenance of the ICA website
- Develops marketing and promotion strategies to enhance and increase ticket sales, community engagement, alumni participation, sponsorships, and donor contributions.
Qualifications/Requirements- A Bachelor's degree in Sports Information, Sport Management, Journalism, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Communications, or a related field, is preferred.
- 1-3 years of related experience is required.
- Experience with Windows-based software, including desktop publishing, web publishing, statistical, and game management.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
