Job Summary/Description:
WFSB is seeking a creative and motivated Digital Content Producer with strong news judgment, a passion for news gathering, and the ability to work quickly under deadline.
This position will create compelling written, video, and social media content for station websites, apps, streaming platforms, OTT, and social media, including TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and X. The ideal candidate can act independently on news tips, confirm information with officials, craft engaging headlines and posts, and support breaking news coverage across platforms.
Duties/responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Produce written, video, and social media news content for digital and streaming platforms.
• Create vertical videos and social-first content for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and Facebook.
• Write, edit, and publish web stories, headlines, push alerts, and social media posts.
• Quickly update breaking news, weather, and traffic content as stories develop.
• Cut and repurpose video from TV newscasts for digital and social platforms.
• Create custom graphics, photo galleries, interactive charts, and other digital elements.
• Collaborate with reporters, producers, photographers, assignment editors, and the digital team.
• Conduct interviews for digital, streaming, social, or on-air stories as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Strong writing, headline-writing, social media, and news judgment skills.
• Experience creating engaging content for TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Knowledge of nonlinear video editing, graphic design, and digital publishing tools.
• Ability to work independently, confirm facts, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, creativity, organization, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage.
• Portfolio or examples of relevant work required.
