Job Summary/Description:
KTIV News 4 (Siouxland’s News Source) is seeking a Digital Editor / Videographer (Videographer H) to create compelling video and social content that elevates our digital and broadcast coverage. The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can shoot, edit, and publish with speed and accuracy across web, app, and social platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Shoot and edit video for digital platforms (web, app, YouTube, and social) and support broadcast needs as assigned.
- Edit breaking news and enterprise packages quickly with strong judgment, sequencing, and audio mixing.
- Produce platform-appropriate cuts (vertical, square, horizontal) and optimize for social performance.
- Collaborate with reporters, producers, and photographers to plan and execute visual storytelling.
- Maintain accurate metadata, captions, and publishing standards; ensure content meets editorial, legal, and brand guidelines.
- Operate and maintain cameras, microphones, lighting, and editing systems; manage file organization and archive workflow.
- Assist with live/field production and special projects as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, film/TV production, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in editing with non-linear editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) and basic graphics/audio workflows.
- Demonstrated experience shooting video with attention to composition, lighting, and natural sound.
- Strong news judgment, writing/copy editing skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Experience publishing to CMS and social platforms preferred.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Strong video editing skills with a portfolio/reel demonstrating digital-first storytelling.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
- Team-first attitude and clear communication across newsroom stakeholders.
