Job Summary/Description:
The Assistant Chief Engineer position is currently open. This position requires maintaining all broadcast equipment, computer systems, and networks.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Maintain all Television Broadcast and A/V equipment associated with Studio and Transmitter facilities
• Troubleshoot and repair all computer equipment and maintain “crossover” to A/V systems
• Assist with remote multi-camera productions, including hookup and troubleshooting
• Help keep software licensing up to date and installed on all systems
• Help implement and maintain computer/network security policies
• Keep proper records and system documentation
• Respond to emergency calls 24/7 as needed
• Maintain Video Servers and editing systems
• Implement computer/network security
• Work flexible hours when needed
• Help with remote broadcasts on location as needed
• Additional duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Knowledge of the inner workings of a broadcast facility
• Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision
• A great team-oriented attitude and dedication to quality
• ATSC transmitter, microwave, and encoding/decoding skills are desired
• Able to troubleshoot computers to board level
• Management of Windows Active Directory network
• Familiarity with NLE systems is a plus
• Ability to work under fast-paced and high-stress situations
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
• Associate's Degree in Electronics or Computer Science or higher
EXPERIENCE:
• 2 years of experience with Windows operating systems, e-mail systems, FTP Servers, TCP/IP networking
• 2+ years working experience with Automated Broadcast systems/workflows
• Experience working as a Broadcast or Media Engineer preferred
• Experience with ATSC TV transmitters and microwave systems preferred
