- This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake City site or on location.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a versatile and driven TV sports producer to write, shoot, edit and post sports news events, features and documentaries. This is a position covering weekend sportscasts and sporting events in the Salt Lake DMA. Our ideal candidate will bring energy and focus in producing compelling digital sports coverage for audiences in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas.
What You Will Do
Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Create engaging sports content for use on multiple platforms (TV, web, app, social) using creativity, speed, and appropriate technique
- Ability to shoot and video from various sporting events on weekends
- Produce sportscasts on weekends using ENPS and graphic plug-ins
- Respond to breaking news promptly with compelling content to join trending conversations
- Collaborate with other content creators, taking part in content creation across multiple platforms (digital and radio)
- Work effectively in a team, deadline-driven environment
- Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.
- Consistently work hours required. Work more when required to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills And Experience We Are Looking For
- College degree in digital content/development, journalism or related field
- Exceptional sports knowledge, including strong knowledge of the Utah sports scene
- Ability to generate highly creative, compelling sports programming for multi-platform distribution
- Strong understanding of the current digital and social media landscape, including creating content for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X (Twitter) and other platforms, best practices, success metrics and emerging platforms
- Prior experience updating and maintaining a brand, team or other professional social media account
- Video editing skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative / Microsoft Office
- Experience with ENPS preferred
- Ability to write clear, concise, conversational and accurate copy
- Prior experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment
- Ability to produce content efficiently and concisely under deadline pressure and to manage stress effectively
- Maintain a valid driver's license and proven ability to safely drive personal vehicle without exposing company to serious liability risks
Physical Demands
- Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
Compensation
$16.00 – $22.50 per hour. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
